Waterproofing requirements

A wet room is a space or area in which activities regularly expose structural surfaces to splashing by water. Classification as a wet room depends on the purpose for which the room was built. Wet rooms include bathrooms, shower rooms, and saunas, whereas lavatories or normal technical facilities in buildings are not necessarily considered to be wet rooms. New wet rooms should comply with the waterproofing requirements described in part C2 of the National Building Code of Finland. (see “Kosteus rakentamisessa, RakMK C2 opas” (environmental guide), Finnish Ministry of the Environment, 1999).

The Feelings Watertight method complies with the waterproofing requirements of C2. Other surface treatment methods mentioned here are intended for damp spaces.
